DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - The Albright women's lacrosse team (1-1) was in action this afternoon and scored 22 goals in an offensive explosion downing Delaware Valley (0-1) on the road for their first win of the 2023 season.
The Lions started off the game on fire scoring the game's first three goals. Lauren China was active in the first period scoring a first period hat trick in just over four minutes of game time.
A Chole Fornoff goal with nine seconds left in the first period gave Albright a 6-2 lead heading into second period action.
It was all Lions in the second period outscoring the hosts eight goals to one. Kyra Lycett had it going in the second period tallying a hat trick of her own in just two minutes of game time. China added three more goals to her stat line in the second period putting the Lions up big at the half, 14-3.
More of the same for Albright in the third period having their way on the offensive end. The Lions scored four goals in the third all by different players. Fornoff, Ashleigh Tortorice, Brianna Kung and Abbie Moist each found the back of the net in the frame.
Albright shut out Delaware Valley in the fourth period blanking the Rams for the final 15 minutes of game time.
Leading 18-4 heading into the final 15 minutes the Lions still wanted more. Four different Lions scored in the fourth quarter in the likes of Sarah Chernis, Morgan Kopcik, Emma Thompson and Lucy Moreland.
Four more goals saw Albright to victory, dominating the game from start to finish and winning on the road 22-4 over Delaware Valley.
China tied her career high with six goals and collected four ground balls for good measure. Lycett recorded a new career with four goals during today's game.
Recording a goal today for the Lions was Morgan Kopick who also recorded six ground balls, Abbie Moist, Lucy Moreland (1st career), Sarah Chernis, Emma Thompson (1st career) and Zoe Dicks (1st career).
