YORK, PA. - The Albright College baseball team (1-9) opened their weekend series with York College (Pa.) (5-7) on Friday afternoon and dropped the first game of the three game set to the Spartans 22-1.
The Lions are now 1-1 through two games played this week after their come from behind victory against Delaware Valley on Wednesday (March 15). Albright rallied against the Aggies for five runs in the eighth inning to win the game 6-3.
On Friday afternoon the Lions opened their three game set against York College (Pa.) on the road. Zander Tesoriere led off the game and later stole second but was stranded there in the top of the first inning.
Tesoriere had a strong day at the plate going 3-5 with three singles and a stolen base.Tesoriere now has multiple hits in back to back games after collecting two hits against Delaware Valley this past Wednesday.
The Spartans scored seven runs in the second inning and would lead 11-0 after five innings.
First year, Patrick Healy, led off the top of the eighth inning with a bang. Healy got a hold of one and homered to put the Lions on the board. For Healy the home run was the first hit of his Albright career.
York College (Pa.) increased their lead over the Lions to in the eight inning and took the opening game of the three game set.
Jack Gilmer recorded two hits for Albright and was on base three times this afternoon. The two singles was the first multi hit game of the season for Gilmer. Nick Barton recorded a hit knocking a single in the seventh inning.

Albright will wrap up their three game set with York College (Pa.) Saturday, March 18 in two seven inning games. Game 1 gets underway at 12 p.m. and game 2 will start roughly 30 minutes after game 1.
