READING, PA. - The Albright College softball team (0-4, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) was in action this afternoon for a doubleheader against Penn State Berks (5-3) and dropped a pair to the Nittany Lions on the road.
GAME 1: L, 16-2 (5 INN)
In the second inning Madison Lasko led off the inning with a single up the middle. Jadelyn Van Winkle was next up and doubled down the left field line to put two runners into scoring position for Albright.
Kaitlyn Aasheim put the ball in play and knocked home Lasko while also advancing Van Winkle to third for Albright on the play. Van Winkle would come around to score on a passed ball from the PSU catcher giving the Lions their second run of the inning.
Lasko recorded her first hit and run of her Albright career this afternoon. Aasheim was credited with an RBI in today's game one marking the first of her Albright career.
Jordan Melson came on as a substitute and went 1 for 1 with a single in her lone at bat.
GAME 2: L, 10-2 (6 INN)
The game was scoreless through two innings before Veronica Heckman roped a double down the left field line scoring Aasheim from second. For Heckman it was her sixth hit of the season and her first RBI of 2023.
Van Winkle carried over her hot bat into game two this time lacing a double down the left field line. Overall in the two games Van Winkle went 3 for 4 with a walk and two runs scored.
Melson was due up next and knocked home Van Winkle with an RBI single. Melson in the two games went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Heckman leadoff for the Lions in game two and went 2 for 3 and an RBI.

The Lions will have an off day tomorrow then head on the road on Wednesday, March 22 to face Lancaster Bible College in a doubleheader. Game one will get underway at 3:00 p.m.
