Baseball Drops Road Conference Game to Alvernia

The Albright College baseball team played their first of three against Alvernia on Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 28) and dropped a single nine inning game to Alvernia 13-3.

READING, PA.  - The Albright College baseball team (3-14, 1-9 MAC Commonwealth) played their first of three games against Alvernia (14-7, 8-2 MAC Commonwealth) on Tuesday (Mar. 28) afternoon and dropped the single nine inning game to the Golden Wolves 13-3.

Albright will continue their series with Alvernia next week on Tuesday, April 4 at home playing in a double header.

The Golden Wolves scored in the first, third and fifth innings to take a 8-0 lead over Albright after five innings.

Eddie Meredith led off the sixth inning with a double to left field to put a runner in scoring position. For Meredith it is fourth straight game with a hit and his second straight game with an extra base hit.

Roman Berretta, Reece Adam and Tommy Lewman were the next three batters and each hit an RBI single. Albright scored three runs in the inning hitting courtesy of the three straight singles.

The Lions added a run in the ninth on Trey Smith's first RBI of the year. Smith knocked a single to center field that scored Domenic Borelli who previously reached base on a walk.

The Golden Wolves bats were hot all day plating 13 runs to take game one of three from Albright.

Adam went 2-3 with an RBI and Berretta, Lewman, Nick Barton, Smith and Meredith all recorded one hit for Albright.


UP NEXT:
Albright will have a day off in between games as the Lions will head to Neumann University on Thursday, March 30 for a single nine inning game. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m.
