READING, PA. - The Albright College softball team (2-8, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) hosted PSU Schuylkill (8-4) this afternoon and dropped a pair of games to the Nittany Lions in non conference softball action.
GAME 1: L, 9-1 (6 INN.)
PSU Schuylkill used a first inning home run to jump out to a 7-0 advantage in the first inning.
In the bottom of the frame the Lions put together two doubles to plate a run themselves. Kathryn Baptiste roped a double into the right center field gap getting into scoring position.
Jadelyn Van Winkle matched Baptiste with a double of her own to center field and scored Baptiste from second. For Van Winkle it is her third RBI of the year and third extra base hit of the year.
Baptiste went 2-3 and a run scored and Van Winkle went 2-3 with an RBI for the Lions in game one.
GAME 2: L, 14-0
Game two saw no runs scored until the fourth inning. PSU Schuylkill scored three in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 6-0 lead over the Lions.
In the bottom of the first inning standout first year Mya Mrakich tripled into the right center gap. Mrakich's triple is the first one of her Albright career and now gives Mrakich a hit in five of her last six games.
Veronica Heckman and Kaitlyn Aasheim both singled in the third inning. Heckman now owns an impressive .419 batting average through 10 games this season.
Madison Lasko added a single for Albright in game two giving Lasko seven hits in her last eight games.

Albright softball will be right back in action tomorrow when the Lions travel to Lycoming college for an afternoon double header. Game 1 will start at 3 p.m. and game 2 will begin around 5 p.m.
