Men’s Lacrosse Opens MAC Commonwealth Play Against Eastern

The Albright men’s lacrosse team played in their first home game since March 12 this afternoon and dropped the MAC Commonwealth opener to visiting Eastern 25-7.

READING, Pa. - The Albright men's lacrosse team (2-8, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth ) kicked off conference play this afternoon and dropped the first MAC Commonwealth game of the season to Eastern (4-6, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) by a final score of 25-7.

Eastern jumped out an early advantage over Albright holding a 7-1 lead after 15 minutes of play.

Jack Burke extended his streak of scoring a goal in every game this season with a first period goal in today's game. Burke is now up to an impressive 31 goals this season.

The Eagles continued their strong play leading 22-4 after the end of three periods.

Scoring in the second period was Lucas Roselli on an unassisted goal. Jay Shifflet and James Elko found the back of the net for the Lions in the third period.

Shifflet scored three times in the final frame giving him four goals on the day. Shifflet is now up to 29 goals through 10 games played this season.

Earning assists today was Nick Antonio and Elko for the Lions. Burke added three ground balls and two caused turnovers to his stat line.

Albright will have the next two days off before heading to Alvernia on Saturday, March 31 for a weekend matinee. The game will begin at 2 p.m.
