Men’s Lacrosse Falls on the Road to Delaware Valley

The Albright men’s lacrosse team was on the road at Delaware Valley this afternoon in a non conference matchup and fell to the Rams by a final score of 12-7.

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - The Albright men's lacrosse team (1-4) was on the road for the third time this season and fell to Delaware Valley (2-1) 12-7 in non conference action on Saturday (Mar. 4) afternoon.

Jack Burke scored the first goal of the game putting the Lions up 1-0 under a minute into the contest. Burke has scored in every game for Albright this season bringing his season goal total to 15 .

After Delaware Valley tied the game at one a piece Lucas Roselli found the back of the net giving the lead back to the Lions. The goal came just 29 seconds after the Rams tied the game in the first period.

In the first four minutes of the game each team scored twice seeing the game knotted up at 2-2. From 10 minutes left in the first period to the end of the half goals were hard to come by as Delaware Valley took a 5-3 advantage into halftime.

Jay Shifflet had the third tally of the opening half for Albright, scoring off an assist from Burke.

The third period went the way of the Rams doubling up the Lions and extending their halftime lead to 9-5 at the end of quarter three.

Delaware Valley closed out Albright in the final frame taking the non conference matchup 12-7 on Saturday afternoon.

Shifflet scored twice in the third period to give the attackman his fifth straight game with a hat trick to start the season. Shifflet is now up to 20 goals on the season.

Rounding out the Lion goal scorers was Roselli who scored his second of the day in the fourth period and Justin Moroney who got on the score sheet in the fourth quarter for his third goal of the year.
