READING, Pa. - The Albright women's lacrosse team (3-2) was in action this evening on a cold and blustery night in Reading, Pa. and dominated Immaculata (0-4) 17-4 for the Lions second straight win overall and their first win at home this season.
The Lions scored early and often jumping out to a 9-0 lead at the end of the first period. Kyra Lycett got the party started for the Lions scoring the first goal of the game. Next to score for Albright was Lauren China followed by Kayte Moist giving the Lions an early 3-0 advantage.
Moist had a strong first period scoring a hat trick in just eight minutes of game time. Ashleigh Tortorice got on the board finding a goal of her own to stretch the Albright advantage to 6–0 still in the first period.
Sarah Chernis got in on the action scoring Albright's ninth and final goal of the opening period. In all, five different Lions scored a goal for Albright in the opening 15 minutes.
China started the second period right where she left off in the first scoring her third goal of the game. China was not done there as she buried another one just before the half. The Lions led 11-1 at the break. Kayte Moist scored three times in the opening half and China scored four times in the first 30 minutes.
It was more of the same for the Lions in the second half scoring six more times. Marisa Cocca, Tortorice, Zoe Dicks and Brianna Kung all scored for Albright in the third period. Tortorice scored her third goal of the game in the third and Cocca registered her first goal of the season. It was the first hat trick of the season for the graduate student.
The Lions would add two more goals in the final period to put a stamp on the dominant performance over Immaculata winning by a final score of 17-4
China and K. Moist each scored four times tonight and Tortorice scored three of her own to lead the Lions offensively.
Lycett finished tonight's game with seven draw controls. With the seven draw controls Lycett is now over 100 draw controls in her career for the Lions. Lycett is at 103 total draw controls and will look to improve on that mark throughout the remainder of the season.

The Albright women's lacrosse team will head on their Spring Break trip next Wednesday, March 15 traveling to Clear Water, Fla. The Lions will play one game in the sunshine state against McDaniel College on the 15th. The game will get underway at 10 a.m.
