READING, PA. – The Albright College Baseball team (0-6) opened Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play this afternoon hosting the Hood College Blazers (7-3). The Lions dropped the single nine inning game to Hood by a final score of 19-4.

No runs through first two innings of today's game as both pitchers had their best stuff going early. John O'Connor got the start today and was solid through five innings of work. The right hander scattered five hits throughout his outing.

After Hood College took the lead in the top of the third inning the Lions answered right back with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning. Trey Smith reached on an error and later stole third. Tommy Lewman knocked home Smith with a sacrifice fly to tie things at one.

Hood answered in the fourth via a solo home run by Cameron Day. However once again the Lions battled back in the bottom of the inning this time taking a 3-2 lead into the fifth.

The Lions added to their lead in the fifth via an Eddie Meredith single up the middle plating Jack Gilmer from third for a 4-2 Lions lead.

Hood College was able to pull away from Albright in the sixth and seventh innings plating 13 runs across the two innings.
