OWINGS MILLS, MD. - The Albright College baseball team (5-23, 2-17 MAC Commonwealth) dropped to 1-1 on the week, falling on the road to Stevenson (14-13, 8-8 MAC Commonwealth) by a final of 24-3.
The Lions opened their week with a 16-12 win over Penn State Berks at home on Tuesday. In the game, all nine starters recorded at least one hit for Albright.
Prior to the start of today's contest it was announced that Saturday's home double header (April 15) was postponed to Sunday (April 16) at the same times of 12/3 p.m.
Seven runs came across the board in the first two innings combined by both teams with Stevenson leading 4-3 after two innings.
A Roman Berretta bunt single loaded the bases in the first inning after Deklyn Marks and Reece Adam both reached on walks. After a Tommy Lewman sacrifice fly, John O'Connor tripled to left center plating Berretta and Marks.
For O'Connor it was his first triple of the season and Berretta has now hit safely in seven of his last eight games played.
The Mustangs broke the game open in the sixth inning scoring nine runs to take game one of the three game weekend series.
Ethan Karel came into the game to play left field and collected a single extending his hitting streak to three games.
