Baseball Concludes Weekend Series Against Stevenson

The Albright College baseball team had their doubleheader against Stevenson postponed to Sunday after thunderstorms rolled through the area on Saturday.

READING, PA.  - The Albright College baseball team (5-25, 2-19 MAC Commonwealth) concluded their weekend series against Stevenson (16-13, 10-8 MAC Commonwealth) on Sunday afternoon dropping both games of the double header to the Mustangs.


GAME 1: L, 14-0

No runs came across the board until the third inning. Stevenson plated five runs in the third inning and five more in the fourth inning to take game one over Albright.

The Mustangs got six strong innings from S. Downs won his fourth game of the year this afternoon.

Reece Adam collected the hit for Albright knocking a single up the middle in the third inning. For Adam, the hit in game one marks his 24th of the season for the Senior first baseman.


GAME 2: L, 6-2

After three innings of play in game two, Stevenson led the Lions 2-1 in MAC Commonwealth baseball action.

Zander Tesoriere started the bottom of the third inning with a single and would later steal second base. Deklyn Marks came to bat and roped a double to left center bringing home Tesoriere. For Tesoriere it is his 6th stolen base of the year.

The Mustangs plated runs in the fourth and third innings. Stevenson was able to use the two innings to their advantage and take the doubleheader from the Lions.

Tesoriere led off the bottom of the seventh with his second hit of the day. After a double play turned by Stevenson, Adam walked and scored on Marks's second RBI double of the day.

Marks, Tesoriere and Eddie Meredith each recorded two hits in game two leading the way for Albright. After his two doubles today, Marks collects his first game with two extra base hits and is now hitting .280 on the season.

Albright will head on the road to Penn State Berks on Wednesday, April 19 with first pitch set for 3:30 p.m.
