Men’s Lacrosse Falls at Home to Nationally Ranked York College (Pa.)

The Albright men’s lacrosse team played in their second home, night game of the season on Wednesday evening and fell to the visiting nationally ranked Spartans.

READING, PA. - The Albright men's lacrosse team (3-11, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) hosted their second night game of the season on Wednesday evening squaring off against Nationally ranked York College (Pa.) (9-5, 5-0 MAC Commonwealth). The Lions fell to the visitors 26-6.

The Lions started off the game strong scoring two of the first three goals of the game. Lucas Roselli scored the first goal of the game and assisted by Jack Burke. The second goal for the Lions came from an amazing shot by Jay Shifflet giving the Lions a 2-1 lead early in the first.

The Spartans went on a huge 14-0 run in the remaining of the half making the score 15-2 at the half.

The Spartans showed no signs of slowing down, scoring 11 more goals in the second half and winning the game going away. 

Shifflet finished the game with a hat trick scoring one goal in the third and two in the fourth. This is the eighth time Shifflet has scored three or more goals in a game. 

Drew MacDonald MacDonald, who joined the team mid-season, scored the first goal of his Albright career from his defensive position.

Burke ended the game with three assists. This is his fourth game of the season with three or more assists.

Up Next:
Albright will play their final home game of the season on Saturday, April 22 against Hood College. Saturday's game will also serve as Senior Day for the program with pre-game festivities starting around 11:30 and the game starting at 12 noon.
