EDWARDSVILLE, PA. - The Albright College softball team (2-12, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) was on the road on Sunday afternoon matching up against Wilkes (14-4). The Lions fell in both double headers in non conference softball action.
GAME 1: L, 6-2
The Lions loaded the bases in the first inning looking to strike early in the game. Mya Mrakich led off with a walk and was followed by two singles from Katyryn Baptiste and Heather Pomante. Despite loading the bases, the Wilkes defense flashed some leather to keep Albrigt off the board in the first inning.
Wilkes would carry a 6-0 lead after four innings of play.
In the top of the fifth inning the Lions plated two runs by working the counts in their favor and getting on base. Kaitlyn Aasheim walked, Mrakich was hit by a pitch and Baptiste walked to load the bases.
Jadelyn Van Winkle and Veronica Heckman both walked with the bases loaded, scoring two runs for Albright and collecting RBI's for themselves.
Jordan Melson and Madison Lasko both singled in game one for Albright.
GAME 2: L, 8-0 (5 INN.)
Wilkes got a strong pitching performance from Lauren DeMarco in game two. DeMarco earned her fifth win of the season stifling the Lions offense.
Madison Lasko picked up a single for Albright in the fifth inning giving Lasko a hit in both games of the double header.
The first year catcher/outfielder, Lasko has now recorded a hit in 10 out of the 14 games played this year. In addition, Lasko has hit safely in her last four out of five games played.

Albright will make the short trip across town to face Alvernia on Tuesday, April 6. The MAC Commonwealth clash will get underway at 3 p.m.
