READING, PA. - The Albright College softball team (2-14, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road for two games against Alvernia (10-8, 3-5 MAC Commonwealth) and dropped a pair to the Golden Wolves on Friday afternoon.
GAME 1: L, 18-0
Alvernia broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning by scoring nine runs in the frame. The Golden Wolves got timely hitting and strong pitching to take game one.
Madison Lasko collected a hit in game one and has now recorded at least one hit in five of her last seven games played. On the season Lasko is hitting a respectable .268.
Mya Mrakich and Jordan Melson added a hit for the Lions in game one both reaching base by way of a single.
GAME 2: L, 6-0
Mrakich led off game two with a single giving the first year player a hit in both games this afternoon and later knocking a single in the sixth inning giving Mrakich a multi hit game. Today's game marks the third time this season Mrakich has had at least two hits in one game.
Alvernia Broke the game open in the third inning and won going away over Albright in game two.
Kathryn Baptiste, Veronica Heckman and Summer Leeds all collected hits for the Lions in game two. After another hit today, Heckman is now up to .318 batting average on the season.
