READING, PA. - The Albright College baseball team (6-26, 2-20 MAC Commonwealth) opened their weekend series with Widener (17-17, 11-8 MAC Commonwealth) at home this afternoon and fell to the visiting pride 16-3.
Prior to the start of today's game, seniors Reece Adam, Hunter Kearns and Gavin Budzyn were honored for their commitment to the Albright baseball program over the years.
The Pride jumped on the Lions in the first two innings scoring nine runs to take an early lead. Widener added two more runs in the seventh inning to pull away from the Lions taking game one over the Lions.
Albright pounded out nine hits in today's game led by first year second baseman Deklyn Marks. Marks went 3-5 on the day with a double, RBI and run scored. Marks is now hitting 6-15 over his past three games to raise his season average to an impressive .290.
Fellow first year student-athlete Zander Tesoriere finished the day going 2-3 with two singles. Tesoriere has been swinging a hot bat of late going 7-10 in his past three games, including three straight multi hit games.
Marks' RBI double in the seventh inning scored the first two runs of the day for the Lions and Marks would come around to score on a sacrifice fly from Patrick Healy.
John O'Connor, Ethan Karel, Tommy Lewman and Jack Gilmer all ended their afternoons with one hit each for the Lions.

Albright will travel to Widener tomorrow for two games against the Pride. The doubleheader is set for a 12 p.m. first pitch.
