READING, PA. - The Albright College baseball team (7-29, 2-22 MAC Commonwealth) was in action for the second straight day this time playing home against Elizabethtown (28-7) on Wednesday afternoon. The Bluejays got the best of the Lions taking the single nine inning game 20-7.
A total of 13 runs came across the board through the first three innings of the game. E-Town found themselves in front 8-5 after the end of three innings.
Albright put together a big first inning scoring five runs but was unable to hold the early lead, in the first Albright sent nine batters to the plate scoring five runs. Roman Berretta, Nick Barton and Eddie Meredith all collected RBI singles in the inning. Zander Tesoriere roped a ball into the right center field gap for an RBI triple to cap off the Lions five run first inning.
Elizabethtown used the long ball to their advantage in the fifth inning scoring nine runs in the frame to put the Lions away and take the non-conference matchup.
Albright totaled 11 total hits led once again by first year second baseman Deklyn Marks. Marks collected another three hits today to run his streak to seven games. Marks now has multiple hits in five of his last seven games. The torrid stretch at the plate has raised Marks's average to .315.
Ethan Karel came on as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning and made the most of his at bat. Karel crushed his first career home run in the inning, depositing the ball over the fence.
Rounding the hits for the Lions was Reece Adam, Domenic Borelli, John O'Connor.

Albright will be back on the road to play in their third game in three days tomorrow April 27. The Lions will square off against Lycoming for a single nine inning game starting at 6:30 p.m.
