READING, PA. - The Albright women's lacrosse team (10-6, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth) clinched a spot in the 2023 MAC Commonwealth playoffs with a convincing 16-11 home victory over Lebanon Valley (5-12, 2-6 MAC Commonwealth) on Wednesday evening.
With the win, Albright is headed back to the postseason for the first time since the 2021 season. Under head coach Jen Willis, this is the eighth time the Lions have qualified for the postseason under coach Willis's guidance.
Lauren China could not be stopped on the field this evening. The fifth year attacker set a new career high for goals in a game with seven. China had it going all game long scoring in three out of the four periods this evening.
Albright led 10-5 at halftime after shutting out Lebanon Valley in the second quarter 5-0. Scoring in the first half in addition to China was Kyra Lycett and Ashleigh Tortorice (2). The big second quarter for Albright proved to be the difference in tonight's game.
Albright and Lebanon Valley each scored six goals in the second half seeing Albright take a 13-8 lead into the final frame. The Dutchmen came within four goals of Albright in the second half but the Lions were there to answer the call and put the game away clinching a postseason berth in the process.
Four different Lions scored multiple goals in tonight's game led by China's new program record of seven goals. Tortorice finished the game with a season high four goals and Kayte Moist and Kyra Lycett each scored twice this evening. Abbie Moist scored one goal and added two assists for Albright while K. Moist added three assists to her overall stat line.
Chloe Fornoff was active defensively for Albright causing four turnovers and scooping up three ground balls.

Albright will be at home on Saturday, April 29 for senior day against Messiah to conclude the regular season. The game is set for a 12 p.m. start.
