READING, Pa. - The Albright women's lacrosse team (8-4, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) dropped their first game of MAC Commonwealth play this season to Stevenson (4-7, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) on Wednesday evening by a final score of 9-6.
Playing under the lights for the first time at home this season, Albright and Stevenson were locked up in a fantastic game.
Abbie Moist needed one point coming into tonight's game to reach 100 points for her career. A. Moist wasted no time scoring a goal just 1:13 into the game. Ashleigh Tortorice scored Albright's second goal of the opening period and A. Moist added another to give the Lions a 3-2 lead after 15 minutes of play.
The two teams played an even first two periods on the field and on the scoreboard. Albright and Stevenson were tied at 4-4 going into halftime. Chloe Fornoff recorded the second period goal for the Lions.
Stevenson opened the second half with two goals but Fornoff answered right back with her second goal of the game. Fornoff's goal midway through the third period brought Albright back within one trailing 6-5. In the game, Fornoff went a perfect 2-2 on free position shots.
The Mustangs pulled away late from Albright scoring three times in the fourth to escape Shirk Stadium with a win.
Fornoff, A. Moist and Tortorice each scored twice in the game while A. Moist added an assist to her stat line.
Kayte Moist recorded three caused turnovers and collected two ground balls. Lauren China tallied three draw controls and added two ground balls. Goalkeeper Caelainn Morrison made six saves tonight in net for Albright.

The Lions will have a week off before returning to action at home against Widener on Wednesday, April 12. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. start time.
