SUSQUEHANNA, Pa. - The Albright field hockey team (2-4) played in their third straight road game against non conference foe Susquehanna (5-2) on Wednesday afternoon. The River Hawks got the best of the Lions taking the game 3-1.
Albright was on the board first in the game scoring six minutes in to take an early 1-0 advantage. Olivia Lorah was credited with the goal off an assist from Laurel Gingrich. For Lorah it was her second goal of the year and for Gingrich it was her first assist of the year.
The River Hawks tied the game up at 1-1 with that score holding after 30 minutes of play.
In the second period alone, starting Albright goalkeeper Veronica Heckman made eight saves. Despite giving up the first period goal, Heckman did an excellent job of keeping the game tied at one going into halftime.
Just before the end of the third period, Susquehanna took a 2-1 advantage over Albright. Susquehanna tallied another goal late to win the game 3-1 over Albright.
Lorah paced the Albright attack firing two shots. Morgan Kopick, Laurel Gingrich and Chelsea Johnson each recorded one shot for Albright.
Despite the final score, Heckman played well making 10 saves in the loss.

Albright will remain on the road this weekend heading to Doylestown, Pa. for a MAC Commonwealth Freedom crossover match against Delaware Valley. The game is set for a 4 p.m. start.
