READING, Pa. - The Albright men's soccer team (6-1-1) handled business at home today against Penn State Brandywine (4-3) on a chilly September evening. As the rain subsided the Lions were busy protecting home field, winning the game over Penn State Brandywine 1-0.
Albright was on the offensive side of their field for the majority of the game. As a team the Lions shot 14 times opposed to only two shots by the Nittany Lions
Tonight's game featured 11 bookings and one send off of Penn State Brandywine's number 26 Peter Glass.
After the first 45 minutes of back and forth physical action, the game remained scoreless at the break.
Just as the second half got underway, the Lions earned a free kick in a dangerous spot looking to go in front. Martin Ramsay took the free kick and played a gorgeous ball into Penn State's six yard box. From there, the ball took a few bounces and ultimately found its way to the back of the net.
Albright led 1-0 at the 46th minute mark.
Albright kept the offense going in the second half applying constant pressure to the Nittany Lions backline. The one goal proved to be the only one Albright would need, securing the 1-0 victory on their home field.
Ramsay led the way with five shots. Vincent Simmons finished with three shots, and Curren Shesniak recorded two shots of his own.
Chris Denholm made two saves tonight on the only two shots he faced. Denholm has kept back to back clean sheets for Albright in back to back games.

The Albright men's soccer team will play their second of four straight home games on Wednesday, September 27 in a MAC Commonwealth Freedom crossover battle against Delaware Valley. The game is set for a 7:30 p.m. start time.
