READING, Pa. – The Albright men's basketball team (9-7, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth) was in action this evening in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth play against York College (Pa.) (9-7, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth). The Spartans won tonight's game 65-53 over the Lions.
Tonight's home loss is the first for Albright this season in MAC Commonwealth play.
Eric Chamberlain led all Albright scorers this evening with 15 points. Chamberlain has now scored in double figures in 13 games this season. Additionally, Chamberlain added a steal continuing to climb up the Albright all time steals record board.
The first half featured strong defense by both teams as neither team was able to get great looks at the basket. At the end of the first 20 minutes of the play York College led Albright 30-24.
A trio of Lions ended the first half with five points in the form of Chamberlain,
Qadir Mitchell and
Hasson Massenburg.
The offensive woes continued in the second half for the Lions as York continued their strong defensive play throughout. The Spartans maintained a 10-point advantage over the final 10 minutes of the second half closing out Albright winning 65-53.
Massenburg was the second lion in double figures this evening scoring 12 points. Massenburg has scored at least 12 points in six straight games.
Mitchell ended with seven points while
Isaac LaPierre added six points and six rebounds.
Robert Mangum scored five points, five rebounds and three steals.
