LEBANON, Pa. – Women's golf hosted their annual fall invitational on Sunday afternoon at Schuylkill Country Club and turned in a spectacular result. The team finished in first of out nine teams with a score of 366.
Fatima Rizvi earned low medalist honors with an 82.
The field consisted of nine total teams featuring 46 individual players. Six total MAC teams were in the field including MAC Commonwealth members Hood and Stevenson.
The course was setup featuring tucked pins on every hole creating a unique challenge throughout the day. "Despite the difficulty of the tucked pins, our Lions never quit and took each challenging hole head on." Said head coach
Eric Lamm. "The team has been playing so well all fall long and it was so exciting to see their hard work pay off today winning the tournament."
Albright beat division two Kutztown University by one stroke and MAC Commonwealth member institution Hood College by two strokes. "Really cool to see our young team beat out an established program like Kutztown." Said Lamm, "Today showed what we can do with four Lions in the lineup giving the program so much potential when more Lions are ultimately added to the lineup."
The Lions team score came in at 366 taking home first place. Additionally, Albright beat out MAC Freedom members Lebanon Valley, Arcadia and Misericordia.
The tournament win is the first time the Lions have won a tournament since October 2015.

Callie Cooper and
Braidan Wastler have played in just two tournaments as team this fall season and have now achieved a feat that has not been done in a decade at Albright.
Rizvi is feeling right at home at Albright picking up her second win in just four total events played. Rizvi started her Albright career with an individual victory at the Weyhill Classic. Rizvi won today on a tiebreak having the lower back nine score over Lebanon Valley's Jillian Fidler.
The first-year golfer has not finished a tournament for Albright outside of the top 10 in four total events. Rizvi's round of 82 was better than all eight golfers in the field from division two schools Kutztown and East Stroudsburg.
Rizvi now has finishes of, solo first, tied for fourth, solo eighth and now another solo first result.
Catania has been playing well all fall and today was no different. Catania's round came in at 92 good for a tied 11
th finish.
Cooper secured a top 20 finish on the day with a round of 94. The round was good for 17
th overall.
Every Lion golfer in action today finished inside the top 20. Wastler rounded out the scores today for Albright with a 98, good for T20 overall.

Albright will tee it up again tomorrow at the LVC Invitational with the first group headed off at 12:00 p.m. The tournament is being played at Lebanon Country Club and will utilize a shotgun start.
