Football Drops Road Conference Game to Stevenson

The Lions football team paid a visit to Stevenson on Saturday afternoon. The game for Stevenson marked their homecoming game and topped the Lions 48-3.

OWINGS MILLS, Pa.  – Albright football (1-5, 0-5 MAC) went on the road on Saturday afternoon for the first time in almost a month. Stevenson (4-2, 4-1 MAC) played host to Albright and beat the Lions 48-3 in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play on Saturday afternoon.

Stevenson held a 17-0 lead at the half adding a late touchdown in the first to go up three scores. Earlier this season, the Mustangs beat Delaware Valley ending the Aggies 54 MAC win streak.

Arthur Poindexter hauled in a career high five receptions marking the best game of the first-year Lions career. Poindexter's five catches went for 45 yards including a long reception of 22 yards. Poindexter was dynamic in the return game as well totaling 39 yards on two total returns.

Alden Stickler registered four catches for 66 yards this afternoon. Stickler has had at least four receptions in each of his past three games. The 66 yards is good for the fourth time this season Stickler has had at least 55 yards receiving in a game.

Chase Roberts started for the Lions at quarterback and ended his day with 192 yards. Roberts did a nice job of spreading the ball around to his entire offense finding eight different receivers. Andre Parker made his first appearance for the Lions under center throwing for 77 yards in his Albright debut.

Samuel Moratori came into today's game as the conferences leading tackler. Today, Moratori added to his impressive tackle total with 11 more tackles today. The Lion safety has four such games this season recording at least 11 tackles giving him 61 total this season.

Terrell Bartee was credited with 1.5 tackles for loss while Darien Osmun had a tackle for loss to go along with four total tackles. 15 different Albright defenders recorded at least one tackle this afternoon.

Jacob Rideout continues to be a bright spot on special teams in the punting game. Rideout leads the conference with a punt average of 46.25. Rideout's career long punt came this afternoon when the senior recorded a punt of 60 yards.

The Lions will be on the road next week heading to Delaware Valley to take on the Aggies. The game is set for a 12:00 p.m. kick-off on Saturday, October 26.
