READING, Pa. – Volleyball (15-6) hosted one of their final non-conference matches of the season against Marywood (5-17). The Lions would go on to sweep the Pacers 3-0.
Prior to the game the team honored seniors
Sophie Hampton and
Paola Mejias.
Neve Straff registered a team high 10 kills. The sophomore has now registered three double digit kill performances in the team's last five games.
Rachel Etim registered three solo blocks along with one assisted block. The junior now sits at 80 total blocks for the season.
Senior
Sophie Hampton recorded eight kills to go along with a pair of service aces as part of a 10.5 point performance,
The best run of the match for the Lions came in the form of a dominating a 12-2 run in the third set to put the Lions in prime position to finish the sweep.
Winniffer Rodriguez picked up 15 digs along with three assists and a service ace in a strong all around performance.
Senior
Paola Mejias recorded 19 assists to go along with four kills and a blocked shot.
This is the first time the team has recorded back-to-back 15 win seasons since their 1990 and 1991 seasons.
