READING, Pa. – Field Hockey (4-7) hosted the College of New Jersey (6-4) in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Shirk Stadium. The Lions of TCNJ topped the Albright Lions 6-0.
On Wednesday of this past week, the Lions played in a double overtime thriller against William Patterson. The game took until the second overtime to determine a winner.
Olivia Lorah stepped up and buried a penalty stroke to give the Lions a 2-1 win over William Patterson. The win for Albright was the first double overtime victory since 2019.
Albright and TCNJ have matched up in every season since 2013 minus the canceled COVID-19 season.
As for today's game, TCNJ opened the scoring in the second period to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. The TCNJ Lions would go on to add five goals in the second half to beat the Lions.
TCNJ's Rayhanah Ahmed tallied at hattrick to pace the visitors offensive attack.
Chelsea Johnson was credited with one shot today that sailed just shy of the opposing goal. Johnson has recorded at least one shot in 10 of the 11 games this season.
