BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Albright Women's Basketball team (2-0) took the second of their first two games on the road against Moravian (1-1). Following a tight first half, a 23-point third quarter would go on to be the difference in a 67-58 win for the Lions.
Mackenzie Dover tied her career high with 27 points which included a pair of three pointers to go along with four rebounds and two assists. Dover also went a perfect 5-5 at the free throw line.
Tying for second on the team in points were
Orianna Edmond and
Shakyla Mayo who each put up 14. Edmond recorded a team high 11 rebounds and six blocks in a fantastic defensive performance. The six blocks marks a new career high for Edmond while placing herself in the record books tying for fourth all time in blocks in a single game.
Mayo also joined Dover in the three-point action and converted on two of her three attempts. The 14 points for Mayo marks a new career topping her previous career high of 13.
Following a 32-28 first half, The Lions would pull ahead in the third quarter on a 23-10 run to set themselves up for the rest of the game.
CJ Apistar secured a pair of rebounds and registered a team high four assists setting up her teammates for a number of clutch buckets.
Following tonight's win, the Lions have now won their fourth straight against the Greyhounds.
