WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Albright Women's Basketball (1-0) began their season on the road against Wilkes (0-1). After maintaining control for majority of the game, the Lions would go on to win by a score of 77-54.
Mackenzie Dover led the way for the Lions with 16 points in only 19 minutes of play to go along with four rebounds and four assists.
After the first half, the Lions would find themselves up 41-32 at halftime.
Julia Parmelee had an outstanding day on defense recording five steals and a pair of rebounds. Parmelee added seven points on the day in an all round strong game.
CJ Apistar dominated the glass and recorded a team high seven rebounds which included four on the offensive end.
Gigi Serrano hit a pair of threes and finished second on the team in scoring with 14 points.
Scoring their first career points today for Albright was
Chrisdin Jones,
Ciarra Gibbs and
Dani Sherman. Jones led all first-year Lions with nine points
The Lions would never look back in the second half and outscored the Colonel by a score of 36-22 to secure the win.
