RADNOR, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team (0-1) officially got their season underway on the road against Cabrini (1-0) on Saturday afternoon. The start of today's game was pushed back a couple of hours due to the snow that fell overnight in the area. Cabrini won today's game by a final score of 17-1.
Head Coach
Jen Willis officially begun her 13
th season at the helm of Albright women's lacrosse program this afternoon. Coming into this season coach Willis has compiled an overall career record of 101-93.
Olivia Ball playing in her first career game for the Lions scored her first career goal in the process. The first-year attacker got on the board in the second period off an assist from
Sarah Chernis.
Cabrini came out firing in today's game carrying a 12-1 lead into halftime. Cabrini's Olivia Little scored four first half goals in the game.
Cabrini added five more goals in the second half to win the season opener for both teams over Albright this afternoon.
Chernis ended today's game with an assist, two shots on goal and two ground balls.
Abby Hudson led the way in ground balls for the Lions recording three in today's game.
Caelainn Morrison and
Cynthia Schneider each finished with two ground balls. Schneider added three draw controls to her overall stat line this afternoon.
