COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team (0-2) has started their season with back to back road games squaring off against Ursinus (1-0). The Bears won tonight's game over the Lions 18-4 on their home turf.
Tonight, marked the season opener for Ursinus and is the only game the Bears will play at home until March 16.
Riley Basht scored her first career goal in the first period of tonight's game. The goal came in a man-up situation and was assisted by
Lucy Moreland.
Kayte Moist,
Katelyn Patrick and
Zoe Dicks all scored one goal each tonight marking the first goals of the season for each individual.
Brianna Kung recorded two points in tonight's game assisting on Patrick's and Dicks' goal. The assists for Kung mark the first two of the season.
Ursinus jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in tonight's game. The lead grew to 10-2 at halftime in favor of the Bears. Ursinus would add six more goals in the third quarter giving them a win in their season opener.
Moist finished with two shots on goal and a ground ball and caused turnover. Dicks tallied two ground balls to go along with two caused turnovers.
Cynthia Schneider and
Kaila Clark both finished with one ground ball and one caused turnover a piece.

The Lions will welcome Elizabethtown College to campus this Saturday, February 24 for the home opener. The game is set for a 1 p.m. start time at Shirk Stadium.
