READING, Pa. – Jenna Ranney has officially been hired as the third head women's lacrosse coach in school history on Wednesday September 16^th as announced by the college's athletic department and Athletic Director Rick Ferry. Ranney returned to Albright for a second stint as an assistant after spending time at Frostburg State before ascending to the role as the program's next head coach. 
 
Ranney will embark on her first season at the helm this spring following the departure of Nicole Blair '23 earlier this year. At Frostburg State, Ranney evaluated and recruited prospective athletes from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Long Island. In her time with the Bobcats, the team took home their conference championship in 2025 as well as a co-championship in 2026. The 2025 season marked the first ever NCAA tournament appearance for Frostburg.

Prior to Frostburg State, Ranney served as an assistant coach for Albright's women's lacrosse program during the 2024 season and assisted with day-to-day operations and recruiting visits.
 
"I came to Albright first as a graduate assistant and am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to now take the lead of this program. Albright has held a special place in my career, and returning to this role makes this opportunity even more meaningful. I'm excited to bring the experience and confidence I've gained since my time here and continue on what has already been built. I'm especially thankful to Rick Ferry for trusting me with the opportunity to lead this program. In her playing career, Ranney played for Mount St. Mary's and Fairleigh Dickinson accounting for 89 goals and 28 assists and was named All-MAC Freedom Second team in 2023 along with receiving honorable mention status in 2024. She is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson with both a Bachelor of Science along with an MBA in Marketing.
