PRINCETON, N.J. – The Albright men's track and field team was in action throughout the day on Sunday (Feb. 18) competing in the Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton. Today's meet is the final meet before the MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships get underway next weekend.
Dante Zamichieli took down a 12 year old program record in the 1000 meter run finishing with a time of 2:41.22.
FULL MEET RESULTS
Dante Zamichieli saved his best performance for the last regular meet of the season. Zamichieli took home second out of nine in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:41.22. The time marks a new program record for the Albright Indoor Track and Field program. Zamichieli broke a record that stood since 2012 that was set by George Cook. Cook's time was 2:42.55 and Zamichieli breezed by that time to become the new record holder in the event.
Alden Stickler turned in a solid performance in the long jump qualifying for the MAC Championships reaching a distance of 6.12m. Stickler was not done there as he took 2
nd overall in the triple jump with a jump of 13.22m. The distance is good for Stickler's second MAC qualifying mark of the day.
John Villano competed in the high jump this afternoon in a five-man field. Villano qualified for the MAC Championships clearing the bar at a height of 1.80m.
