READING, Pa. – The Albright men's lacrosse team (2-2) welcomed the Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley (2-2) to town on Wednesday to face off in a non-conference matchup. The Dutchmen won today's contest by a score of 18-10.
Jack Burke and
Joost Van der Horst had good chemistry tonight both scoring four goals for the Lions. Burke tagged on an assist to his goal total ending tonight's with five points. Van der Horst recorded three assists on the night and now has scored at least three goals in each game this season. Van der Horst has enjoyed a nice start to his Albright career, recording 20 points through the first four games of the season.
The Lions battled back in the second quarter cutting their deficit to just four at the half.
Nick Antonio scored two goals in the first half, along with Burke and Van der Horst each scoring a goal of their own. After 30 minutes of play the Dutchmen led 8-4.
The Dutchmen showed no signs of slowing down, outscoring the Lions 10-6 in the second half. After three quarters of play LVC led 14-6.
LVC carried their third quarter momentum into the fourth quarter to ultimately win the game over Albright in a MAC Commonwealth Freedom division crossover game.
Justinus Park had a team high of 10 ground balls in tonight's contest.
Jon Alvarez was strong for the Lions defensively, causing three turnovers and picking up four ground balls.
