Baseball Drops Home Game to Franklin & Marshall

The Albright baseball team played at home this afternoon battling the wind and cold throughout the day. The Diplomats won today’s game 18-4 over the Lions.

READING, Pa. – The Albright College baseball team (3-9) took to the field this afternoon against Franklin & Marshall (6-10) playing in their third game of the week and second straight non-conference game. The Diplomats of F&M took today's game over the Lions winning by a final score of 18-4.

The Lions jumped out to a 4-1 lead but Franklin and Marshall were able to respond during their next at bats. The Diplomats hit a grand slam in the top of the third inning to retake the lead holding a 5-4 advantage.

Brendan Stuhltrager paced the Lions offense once again going 2-3 at the plate. The first-year player has adjusted to the college beautifully rarely getting out at the plate. The first-year outfielder added a stolen base to his stat line rounding out another solid day at the field for Stuhltrager.

Albright ended the game with nine hits by seven different batters. Of the nine hits, all of which were singles.

Ethan Karel, Zack Augunas, Lucas Myford, Eddie Meredith, Owen Morais, Jack Gilmer and Thomas Aulisi all reached base this afternoon by way of singling.

Stuhltrager, Meredith and Morais all tallied one RBI for the Lions this afternoon.

Coming around to score for Albright was Nick Barton, Meredith, Myford and Gilmer.
 
Up Next:
Albright will jump back into MAC Commonwealth play this weekend against Messiah on Friday (Mar. 22) and Saturday (Mar. 23). The first game of the series is set for a 3:30 first pitch from Grantham, Pa.
