READING, Pa. – The Albright College baseball team (4-15, 0-7 MAC Commonwealth) opened up their third MAC Commonwealth series of the season on Friday afternoon, hosting the Golden Wolves from Alvernia (11-9, 4-3 MAC Commonwealth). Alvernia took game one over Albright 14-0 in a single nine inning game.
Carter Cordora ended his day going 1-1 at the plate coming on as a pinch hitter. The first-year utility infielder now has two hits on the season also picking up a hit earlier in the year against Cabrini.
The Golden Wolves scored nine runs in the first five innings to take a commanding lead after five innings of play. Alvernia would use their big first five innings to their advantage to take game one of the series over the Lions.
Deklyn Marks and
Zander Tesoriere both collected a single this afternoon rounding out the hits for the Lions.
As a team, Albright did a good job of drawing walks this afternoon recording seven as a team. All seven walks were drawn by seven different Lions.
Lukas Khandagle pitched a scoreless ninth for Albright. Khandagle face the minimum in the top of the ninth striking out two batters.
Christian Eckstein recorded a stolen base for Albright. The stolen base is the first of Eckstein's career.
