READING, Pa. - The Albright College baseball team (4-16, 0-9 MAC Commonwealth) wrapped up their weekend series with Alvernia (13-9, 6-3 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Alvernia. The Golden Wolves took both ends of today's double header over the Lions.
GAME 1: L, 10-1 (7 INN)
Tommy Lewman collected two hits in game one going 2-3 at the plate with a double. The two hit game is the second of the season for Lewman and the double marks the first extra base hit of the season for the Lions third baseman. Lewman added a run scored to conclude his solid game one.
Alvernia had a 4-1 lead after the Lions batted in the top of the sixth inning. The Golden Wolves were able to scratch across six runs in the home half of the sixth inning to ultimately take game one over Albright.
Zander Tesoriere went 1-3 at the plate adding an RBI on the afternoon. The RBI came in the fourth inning for Tesoriere scoring Lewman from second. Tesoriere added a stolen base to his stat line and now has hits in back to back games against Alvernia.
Brenden Stuhltrager and
Christian Eckstein rounded out the hits for the Lions in game one each reaching base on a single.
GAME 2: L, 11 (8 INN)
The second game of today's double header was originally schedule for nine innings but was shortened to eight due to rain.
A trio of Lions tallied two hits in game two of the day in the form of
Jack Gilmer,
Zander Tesoriere and
Deklyn Marks. Gilmer tallied a double while Tesoriere reached base in all four of his plate appearances adding two walks to his two hits.
Christian Eckstein doubled to left field in the second inning that brought home Tesoriere. The extra base hit and RBI marked the first of Eckstein's career.
Rounding out the hits in game two was
Roman Berretta and
Brenden Stuhltrager both reaching base on a single. Stuhltrager matched Tesoriere and Eckstein as the Lions who collected at least one hit in both games of today's double header.
Albright finished game two with nine total hits as a team.
