CHESTER, Pa. – The Albright women's lacrosse team (1-11, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road for their second straight road game to begin MAC Commonwealth play against Widener (6-6, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth). The Pride remained perfect in MAC Commonwealth play this evening with a 15-3 win over the Lions.
Widener started quickly scoring seven goals in the opening 15 minuets of play. The Pride carried the opening momentum into halftime taking a 7-2 lead into the break.
Olivia Ball scored one goal tonight for the Lions on a woman-up opportunity. Ball's goal marked her fifth of the season and the first time the first-year Lion has scored in MAC Commonwealth play in her career. Ball ended her day recording two ground balls.
Brianna Kung tallied the second goal of the second period for the Lions scoring off an assist from
Cynthia Schneider. Kung's goal is the 8
th of the season for the senior Lion midfielder. Schneider was credited with the helper on Kung's goal marking the first assist of the season for defenseman Schneider.
The Pride tacked on eight more goals in the second half to pull away from the Lions and take the conference matchup.
Kayte Moist scored the third goal of the game for Albright increasing her team lead. Moist is up to 31 goals this season which ranks among the best in the conference. Moist is currently at 92 total career points closing in on the 100
th point of her career.
Four different Lions caused four turnovers today in the forms of
Courtney Futrick,
Abby Hudson, Ball and Schneider.
