READING Pa, - Baseball (10-21, 4-14 MAC Commonwealth) celebrated their 10 seniors today prior to their two afternoon games against Eastern University (16-18, 7-11 MAC Commonwealth). Eastern University would go on to sweep the lions by scores of 6-0 and 2-1.
Senior
John O'Connor started game one for the lions striking out five batters in 5.1 innings of action. O'Connor currently ranks third on the team in innings pitched (26.2) and strikeouts (21).
Senior
Nick Barton picked up a hit in both games raising his batting average to .263 to go along with ranking second on the team in total bases (37) and third in RBIs (17).
Graduate student
Dominic Yeager started game two of the double header and went on to pitch nine innings of one run baseball to go along with six strikeouts. Yeager's 43.1 innings continue to lead the team this season.
The Lions found themselves being shutout 1-0 in the eighth inning looking to find their way onto the scoreboard. First year
Chris Gorla answered the call with his second homerun of the season to tie the game up at 1-1.
Game two would go on to be decided in extra innings with Eastern retaking the lead and winning in the twelfth inning.
