ST. DAVID's, Pa. – The Albright men's lacrosse team (5-10, 0-5 MAC Commonwealth) played in their second straight road MAC Commonwealth game against Eastern (6-9, 2-3 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles protected their home field with a 18-7 victory.
Justin Moroney led the way for the Lions offense finishing the game with two goals on five total shots on goal. Moroney added two groundballs.
James Elko matched teammate Moroney in goals scored in the game also finishing with two. Elko, who leads the conference in total shots taken, added to that total with five shots on Saturday against Eastern.
Nick Antonio was the third Lion on the day to register two goals in the game. Antonio was efficient in his scoring only taking three total shots. Antonio finished with three points adding an assist to his overall stat line.
Eastern game out of the gates strongly to start the game. The Eagles led 10-4 at halftime and added to that lead in the second half stretching their lead to 15-5 at the end of the third quarter. From there Eastern was able to hold on for the victory.
Luke Festa rounded out the goals for the Lions scoring one in the game.
Joost Van der Horst went for two points both coming on two assists.
Jon Alverez was active defensively tallying a career high seven ground balls, an impressive mark for a defender. With three groundballs today,
Hunter Fitterling surpassed the 100-ground ball mark in his career.
