READING, Pa. – Baseball (12-25) wrapped up their home and home series against Muhlenberg (9-29) on Monday afternoon in convincing fashion. The Lions produced 10 runs on 17 hits in a dominating display at the plate. The Lions have scored 10 runs in six different games.
The 12 wins for Albright this season are the most in a season since the 2017 campaign. Albright will have a chance to match the 2012, '13 & 14 teams (13 wins) with a win tomorrow afternoon.
Albright scored nine runs by the fifth inning opening up a commanding 9-2 lead. Additionally, by the fifth inning, every Lion in the lineup had at least one hit.
Four different Lions had at least two hits in today's game.
Chris Gorla had the big hit of the Lions five run fourth inning. Gorla launched a ball over the left field wall for his second home run in his last four games played. Gorla has been on fire of late adding two hits today while scoring three runs.
Tommy Lewman matched Gorla by hitting a long home run to left center field in the bottom of the seventh inning. Lewman's solo shot was his second home run of the year. Lewman finished with three hits at the plate including a double and a run scored. Lewman's three hits are a season high for the Lion third baseman.
Chris Valerio was masterful in relief for the Lions pitching 4.1 innings of scoreless ball. Valerio only allowed two hits over the four innings of work while striking out one batter. Valerio picked up the win for the Lions giving him his first career win.
Nick Barton made it two Lions on the day with three hits. The Albright senior collected two doubles and two RBIs in the game.
Brenden Stuhltrager went 2-5 at the dish with an RBI and a run scored.
Eddie Meredith and
John O'Connor each had pinch hit singles for the Lions. Having at least one hit and scoring at least one run in today's game was
Jack Gilmer,
Roman Berretta and
Zander Tesoriere. Tesoriere added an RBI to his overall stat line.
