READING, Pa – Women's lacrosse (1-10, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) opened up their MAC Commonwealth schedule this morning against nationally ranked York College (4-6, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth). This was the first of seven conference games coming up for the Lions. In their fourth lifetime matchup, the visiting Spartans left with a 17-3 win.
Today's game marks the first MAC Commonwealth game of the season for both teams.
Kayte Moist scored two goals today on the Spartans. The two goals both game in the first half for Moist. The senior attacker now has seven games this season scoring two or more goals in a game. Overall, Moist fired five total shots placing three of them on goal.
The nationally ranked Spartans scored just before halftime making it an 11-3 York lead after 30 minutes of play. York imposed their will in the second half increasing in their lead and ultimately winning the game over the Lions.
Riley Basht scored the third goal of the game for the Lions marking her ninth goal of the season. The nine goals rank second on the Lions so far this season. Basht fired four total shots placing two of them on goal.
Cynthia Schneider tallied six draw controls for the Lions while Moist collected four of them.
Zoe Dicks finished with two caused turnovers and two ground balls pacing the Lions defense.
