MADISON, N.J. – Football went on the road for the first time this season opening up Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play against FDU-Florham. The Devils improved to 2-0 while the Lions dropped to 1-1 falling by a final score of 35-7.
Today marked the first of two straight road games for the Lions and the first MAC game of the season. Last week, Albright opened the season with an exhilarating win over visiting Galladuet. Albright beat the Bison 17-6 to start the season 1-0.
Chase Roberts and
Alex Gardsy split time under center today. Roberts led in passing attempts having 20 total to go along with 99 yards through the air. Roberts found seven different receivers on the day.
The biggest pass play of the game came in the third quarter when Roberts found Stickler in the middle of the field for a 46-yard play.
Alden Stickler ended his day with two catches for 55 yards.
Ryan Green matched Stickler in receptions with two finishing with 23 yards receiving.
Albright's first offensive possession went 12 plays 72-yards for the score.
John Boston scored his second touchdown of the season on an eight-yard scamper. Boston led the Lions back field with 45 yards on the ground.
FDU-Florham trailed Albright until their first touchdown in the second quarter. The Devils led 21-0 at halftime and carried their momentum into the second half scoring once in the third and fourth quarters to win the game.
Samuel Moratori led the Lions in tackles with 12 giving him back to back games with double digit tackles to start the season. Moratori had 11 tackles in the season opener.
First-year
Jaquy'Ri Williams was active defensively recording nine tackles and a tackle for loss of the solo variety.
Jamal Charles recorded the Lions lone sack of the day.
Jacob Rideout did a good job flipping the field for Albright averaging 38.5 yards a punt. His total punting output ended at 231 yards.

Albright will play their second straight road game next Saturday, September 21 at Widener. The game is set for a 12:00 p.m. kick-off from Chester, Pa.
