Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Matthew Minton

Men’s Soccer Dominates Valley Forge on The Road

Men’s Soccer picked up their fourth win in as many games behind goals from four different Lions to win 5-1.

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa – Men's Soccer (4-0, 0-0) turned in another strong performance on the road against Valley Forge (2-4, 0-0) to win the game 5-1. In addition to an own goal from Valley Forge, all four Lions goals would be scored by different players in an offensive explosion.

Albright won by a similar scoreline against Valley Forge last season. A season ago, Albright won 5-0 over the Patriots outscoring them 10-1 in the past two games. The five goals today are the most the Lions have scored in a game this season.

Myles Mitchell scored the first goal for the Lions via a penalty shot in the 40th minute. This was the first career goal for the junior defensemen.

After Valley Forge made it a 2-1 ballgame, John Villano scored his third goal of the season off an assist from Jose Serrano. Villano's three goals rank second on the team.

After Villano's goal it was all Lions, as Austin Gross and Grant Hernandez would score unanswered goals.

Gross' goal was his second of the season and Hernandez's was the first of his career.

Cooper Walters started in net for the Lions giving up one goal in 78 minutes of play. First-Year Mike Lawry made his debut in the final minutes of the second half.
