ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Albright women's soccer team (1-0) scored two first half goals and added a third goal in their season opener to down Rosemont (0-1) on the road on Tuesday afternoon. First year
Daiveni Fisher scored twice while
Audrey Solt added a goal and an assist.
Kyle Martyn enters his second season at the helm of the Albright women's soccer program. With today's win over Rosemont, Martyn is now 2-0 against the Ravens as head coach.
The Lions started fast scoring twice in the opening 45 minutes of action. Solt scored the first goal of the season for the Lions just 20 minutes into the game. The goal came in the run of play and was unassisted.
Fisher wasted no time getting her first collegiate goal out of the way as the first year forward buried the second Albright goal of the game to give the Lions a 2-0 lead just before halftime. Fisher's goal came courtesy of Solt.
Albright held a 2-0 advantage until Rosemont got back in the game with a goal of their own in the 52
nd minute.
16 minutes later, Albright was able to get inside the Ravens defensive zone and draw a penalty kick. Fisher was called upon to take the penalty and buried the ball for the Lions third goal of the game and Fishers second goal of the game.
Albright was able to hold on until the final whistle and escape with a 3-1 win over Rosemont.
McKenna LeVan was her usual self in net making big save after big save. LeVan was credited with five saves in the contest and earned the win.
Albright was active all night on the offensive end ending the game with 19 total shots 12 of which being on goal.
