OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Albright Men's Basketball team (8-6, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth) traveled for the first of two straight road conference games against the Stevenson Mustangs (6-10, 0-5 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon. The Lions played the game at their own pace to win their third of their last four by a score of 82-63.
Phanique Dupree did a little bit of everything today and led all scorers with 23 points and recorded eight rebounds along with four blocks and two steals. Dupree's 23 points marks a new career high for the Lion forward. Dupree came into the game second in the country in blocks per game and improved on that average with his third straight game recording four blocks or more.
Eric Chamberlain recorded 20 points of his own which included converting eight of nine free throws and picked up another three steals as he continues to add to his already record career. The 20-point output is the 6th 20-point game of the season for Chamberlain.
The Lions entered halftime leading comfortably 46-29 looking to simply maintain control for the final 20 minutes.
Chris Kouemi did just that and recorded a double double with 10 rebounds and 10 points and was one of four Lions to end the night in double digits.
Jeremiah Stanton set up his teammates throughout the entire game with a team high 11 assists and recorded a near triple double with nine rebounds and seven points. The 11 assists and nine rebounds are both new career highs for Stanton and the first time the Albright floor general has gone over 10 assists in a game in his career. The assist total puts Stanton in the record books tying for third all time for assists in a game.
After a physical 40 minutes of play, the Lions would hold on for a convincing 82-63 win.
