Suffocating Defense Powers Women’s Basketball to Fourth Straight Win Downing Eastern 80-45

The Lions downed Eastern 80-45 on Wednesday night to earn their fourth straight victory all coming in MAC Commonwealth play.

ST. DAVID'S, Pa.  – Women's basketball has won four straight games earning their fourth straight win with an 80-45 road win over Eastern on Wednesday evening. The Lions are now 10-7 overall and 4-3 in MAC Commonwealth play while Eastern falls to 2-16 overall and 1-6 in conference play.

The four game win streak is the longest this season for the Lions. The win streak could not have come at a better time as today's win moves them to one game over .500 in conference play remaining firmly in the mix in the playoff race.

After starting 0-3 in MAC Commonwealth play, Janice Luck and company have begun to find their stride picking up their fourth straight win. The win tonight is the team's largest margin of victory this season standing at 35 points. The Lions have reached 80 points for the third time this season including tonight.

It was more of the same in the second half as the defense continued to make life difficult on the Eagles. After outscoring Eastern 24-11 in the third quarter, the fourth quarter was only a formality as the Lions coasted to a 35-point victory.

Gigi Serrano led all Albright scorers with nine points including 1-1 from three-point range. Serrano was second on the team in rebounds finishing with seven.
