WASHINGTON, D.C. – Volleyball (4-13) competed in their third tri-match of the season on Saturday afternoon paying a visit to the nation's capital. The Lions dropped both ends of the twin bill falling to Penn State Harrisburg (11-4 current) and Gallaudet (14-5 current record).
Game #1: Albright vs Penn State Harrisburg
Today's match was the second time this season the Nittany Lions and Lions have faced off. Penn State Harrisburg visited Albright in the first match of the season for both teams.
Penn State Harrisburg won the rematch over Albright in three sets this afternoon.
Samantha Lipp led with eight kills while
Neve Straff chipped in with seven kills.
Elon Ruley-Donadelle followed the duo with six kills of her own.
Isabella Garay was strong defensively for the Lions having a game high 17 digs. The match marked the ninth time this season Garay has exceeded 10 or more digs. Straff was second on the team with 13 digs.
Valouria James continues to set her teammates up for success having 13 more assists today. James has seven such matches this season with 10 or more assists.
Korinne Tillery registered three block assists and four kills.
Game #2: Albright vs Gallaudet
Etim and Straff tied each other with four kills in the second match of the day to lead the team. The duo also chipped in with one service ace a piece. Lipp chipped in with three kills of her own to pace the offense.
Straff also led in digs with seven and block assists with two and was followed by
Mackenzie David who recorded six digs.
James, Tillery, Ruley-Donadelle and
Sydney Mayfield also tallied a kill for the Lions.
