READING, Pa. – Women's soccer (1-12-2, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) hosted the nationally ranked #4 Messiah Falcons (13-2, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon in their third conference match of the season. The Falcons won by a final score of 5-0.
Despite losing two of three previous games before taking on Albright, Messiah came into today ranked as the #4 team in the country. Messiah started the season 11-0 and only conceded one goal during that stretch.
Messiah found four first half goals to power them to victory. Bailie Dull assisted on three of the four first half goals for the Falcons.
Early in the second half the Lions nearly got on the board.
Daiveni Fisher took a shot from roughly 30 yards out that was pushed just over the bar by the Messiah goalie. The ensuing corner kick for the Lions was shut down by the Falcons defense.
Paisley Tornatore played all 90 minutes this afternoon faring well overall. Tornatore finished with seven saves and numerous breakups inside the 18-yard box.
The junior goalie is among the Commonwealth leaders in total saves this season with 71 to date.
