READING, Pa. – Women's Basketball (0-2) played Moravian (1-1) in the latter of two straight home games at the Bollman Center prior to the Westfield State Tournament. Following four quarters of physical play, the visiting Greyhounds would exit with a 77-64 win.
Chrisdin Jones led the way for the Lions with 23 points and set a new career high for the second time in three games. Jones would also end the night with seven rebounds and three assists.
Also ending the night in double digits was
Kenedy Cooper who recorded 10 points in 18 minutes off the bench.
The Lions entered halftime trailing by a narrow score of 37-34 after what a was back-and-forth opening 20 minutes.
CJ Apistar and
Julia Parmelee served as the main facilitators and tied for a team best four assists each and combined for six steals. Apistar also tied Jones for the team lead in rebounds with seven.
Orianna Edmond made her home debut tonight and finished the game with five rebounds and a block in what was a strong defensive performance from the senior.
Ultimately, a 40-point second half from Moravian was enough to hold on for a road win over the Lions.
