LANCASTER, Pa. – Men's basketball (1-4) matched up with Franklin & Marshall (4-1) on Thursday evening on the Diplomats home floor. A back-and-forth game saw F&M prevail in the end winning 66-60.
Franklin & Marshall came into tonight's game on a three-game win streak. The Diplomats opened the season receiving votes in the D3hoops national poll.
Albright has played a rigorous non-conference schedule to date having their last two games be against teams featured in the national rankings.
The Lions led at halftime of tonight's game 26-22 behind nine first half points from Dupree.
Franklin & Marshall climbed their way back into the game over the first 10 minutes of the second half. The Diplomats extended their lead to seven with under four minutes to play. A
Joey Callahan three brought the Lions within three with a minute remaining
Over the games final minute F&M hit five of six free throws to close out the win on their home floor.
Qadir Mitchell led with 15 points in 34 minutes. Mitchell tallied a season-high four assists while scoring double figures for the fifth consecutive game to begin the season.
Phanique Dupree marked the second Lion in double figures having 11 points to go with six rebounds and two steals. Jermiah Stanton finished with nine points, four assists and two rebounds.
Callahan tallied nine points on three triples while
Spencer Fuller-Wright set season high in rebounds with eight and assists with two.
