READING, Pa. – Women's Basketball (1-4) played Westfield State (4-1) in the latter of their two tournament games this past weekend. Through four quarters of play, the Owls would hold on for a 75-66 win over the Lions.
Chrisdin Jones led all scorers with 20 points including seven in the fourth quarter along with a career best 14 rebounds. Jones converted on eight of her 15 shots in what was her third 20-point performance of the season.
Also recording double digit points was
Orianna Edmond who finished second behind Jones in points (16) and rebounds (8) and turned in an elite defensive performance with three blocks and three steals.
As a team the Lions recorded 17 steals with
Julia Parmelee snagging a team best with five. Parmelee also dished out five assists in a full 40 minutes of work.
The Lions were relentless all day and were able to outscore the Owls on second chance points by a score of 23-7. 17 total offensive rebounds were recovered by Albright.
After cutting the lead to as little as four in the final minutes, the Owls offense would wake up allowing them to end the game on a 7-2 run for their fourth win of the early season.
